Hi,
I recently bought out an estate and an original Robert Templton painting was part of it. I’ve found that he is a highly regarded and accomplished artist but I’m unable to come up with even a ball park evaluation of the value of his work(s). I’ve attached a picture – any ideas?
Thanks,
Aaron

Believe me I did read it,,several times !! And the punctuation marks are just the way I type,, call it a personality thing !! I have asked twice for a picture of the back of the canvas so I can read the sticker and one of the signature !! And I would be interested to read the article about his work at a department store or at least the name of the store he worked for !! Just looking at the painting and comparing it to Templetons artwork,, it does not look like his !!

I thought you said this was part of an estate you purchased ?? First post !! Now you say this was a department store painting by Templeton !! Have you checked the signature against his !! Still need to see the signature and the back of the canvas !!

I agree that someone related to the boy in the painting would be more interested but any work of a accomplished and famous artist has value. From what I discovered, Mr. Templeton did some ‘hobby work’ at a department store’s portrait studio after the war, painting portraits of children. This is one of them. It has a sticker on the back to that effect. It’s also signed “RT” on the front.
Thanks for the response,
Aaron
