I have this great sterling windmill. The top comes off and it’s hollow inside so I’m wondering what it’s used for. The bottom is stamped Ben Zion Israel Sterling.
I haven’t found another like this in my searches, so any help would be appreciated. I would like to know what it is or was used for, and if any one has any idea as to value, I’d appreciate it.
Thanks.
Well, I am not Jewish so I can`t say positively that’s what it is !! But that’s what the other Ben Zion windmills were listed as !!
Remember this is sterling and even melt value would be a good chunk of change !! It may have a better collectable value !! Good thinking !! Put a few extra dollars in your pocket !!
Thanks yet again! I was having a hard time finding what they were called. I saw something similar, but wasn’t sure. I’m pretty new to this collectible stuff, but have always loved it. Just finally in a place where I can buy some stuff. This was in a lot, and I got it cheap, so I’m probably going to sell this box since I bought the lot for the other items. Works out for me! In the end, my other items will cost me nothing.
The others I saw were called Besamim boxes or holders !! Used for incense during Jewish Sabbath Havdalah ceremony !! Value,, you need to check further on !! New ones are about $625. !! Not sure this is the same but didn`t see others by him for a different purpose so I would guess its the same use !! I think is an older style !!
