I have a brass fly ashtray with red gemstone eyes and an unfamiliar hallmark under its wings. Ive seen several them, but only a few with ruby-like stones inset for eyes. Ive seen NONE with the mark that mine has under its wings. Its a viking ship or some sort of slave ship with no words or numbers, just the single ship. I cannot find it on any other types of brass or metal sculptures either. I dont know if i have something unique or maybe just a piece of scrap. I understand it’s not your ashtray, I simply meant the pic. Like it really matters anyway.. I may sell the ashtray, but my curious nature is what led me here. Now as you said there are many similar marks, but I’m not looking for similar, I’m looking for identical. I know that I dont have a million dollar ashtray here, but if I do sell it, I need to know details about it and what it’s worth. I’ve seen them priced (without the mark) from $25-$300+. That’s a wide enough gap that someone’s getting the short end of the stick in the sale, and I dont want that someone to be me. So thank you for attempting to sh*t in my cereal by letting me know that my little fly is not worth much. But hey, until you can identify my flys mark with 100% accuracy, neither is your opinion.
Kinda of. From just looking at the pic, yours looks a little bulkier as well as darker. The main difference I see is that the eyes on mine are more off-set. You cant see both of them from the front. While you can see both stones when looking at yours head on. They are very similar. Does yours have the ship under the wings???
