I have not been able in my searches to find information on the marks on a couple of pewter plates I have. Can anyone tell me what is associated with the marks? One has the word handgegossen, which is german for hand poured, and the other has initials A F and a bird mark. I attach images here. Thanks for any help.

Since these are decorative items the marks are likely the pewterers individual touchmarks !! Giftware is difficult to track because it was not controlled as other items are !! I found nothing for either mark which may mean that it is fairly new work !! Also there is no quality mark as you would find on older pewter !! There are many unregistered pewter touchmarks similar to yours !! Usually the letters are the initials of the pewterer !!
Where did you find these and what is your location ??

I got these at an estate sale here in Hamilton, Montana. The couple had a large amount of German and English porcelain and pewter ware. They are an English couple, so I was told, maybe one of them is German, who are now moving to England and left many pieces behind at the sale. Thanks for the information.
