I have what looks like a paperweight or maybe stand for a bowl. There are three frogs all looking up. I have tried looking for a signature, and thought I saw a few spots that could be, but eyes are bad and that would be too easy. It would be nice if the frogs could talk.
I know I’ve seen this before, but now that I’m trying to find any information there’s nothing. This may very well be a copy of an original.because I see some pitting in places and a toe or two missing. I think this is from a term “losing wax” and part of the territory of replicating If anyone has any input for me I would be so grateful. Unless of course they tell me they l have eaten frogs legs that would be too much information.

My feeling is that it had a small shallow dish and was a pin dish on a desk for paper clips ect !! Do not remove the screws !! Leave it as it is !!

3 inches tall and 4 inches wide Looks like a corner left from a metal sticker or got stuck on there in the making I wonder if I should take screws out and look in between base and frogs? Might be too hard or might break, but would be interesting how it looks. Already the pics on here look different. Its more dark ish greenish in person. The way they look up wouldn’t surprise me if part of a fly trap. You think a stand for a bowl? I need to take a picture taking lesson.

Hi there and welcome !! Here the frogs are usually dispatched before the legs are removed !! Not many around anymore so we tend to protect them now days !! Yours is different but look at the link above !! I have seen several different styles !! Looks like there may be a mark on the bottom but can not see it well enough to read it !! Look at the bottom of your pic between the bottom screws !! Maybe take a closer shot of that area to check !!
How big/tall is the stand ??

Wow I did it but forgot to write something first. I was worried I’d get in trouble for making a mess my first day in forum. Thanks for giving me the courage to come and do what I had set out to do Marthahill. I remember in my waitressing days seeing a cartoon up on wall in kitchen of a horde of frogs in wheelchairs with blankets over their ” no legs” They were all rolling around grumpy. It was more sad than funny. Beside the point, This piece makes them strong and glamorous even if they aren’t perfect.
The screws in the bottom must be magnetic but the rest isn’t
