Hello everyone, I have been trying to figure out what these are, or belonged to. The bottoms are not alike. They seem to be cut off of something maybe a flag pole, or fence post? There heavy for a small piece they measure about 5″x5″ I have two of them. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Among the things I inherited from my aunt, one is a set of six (marked) sterling mint Julep Cups. They measure 3¾” tall by 3-1/16″ at the lip and 2-5/8″ on the bottom. The cups are dated by the U.S. president in office when they were made. Five are marked “DDE” (Eisenhower) and one “JFK” (Kennedy). They are straight-sided with beaded edge top and bottom. I haven’t weighed them individually but the one I did weigh is 5.1 ounces, making them fairly substantial.
I looked in Kovel’s Antiques and Collectibles online and found two references to them but wasn’t able to find them in the 2012 printed volume. Can anyone give me a ballpark price of what these are currently selling for? Do they have any collector value beyond their sterling price?
