Hello everyone, I have been trying to figure out what these are, or belonged to. The bottoms are not alike. They seem to be cut off of something maybe a flag pole, or fence post? There heavy for a small piece they measure about 5″x5″ I have two of them. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I purchased this item on ebay over a year ago from a woman who said she found it in her grandmother’s cupboard. I have searched online and can’t seem to figure out what it was used for. Thanks for any help you can give. It has a wooden handle, and the hallmarks on the bottom, as far as we can tell, say EPBM and some other initials. I have an enamel over copper large bowl/dish with a pewter floral trim on the rim. It is marked “Mete,” but I can’t find any info on the maker. I know it’s old as it was my grandmother’s and now mine for at least 20 years. It’s about 20″ across. Any info out there? Thanks!
