Hello all, I purchased this box a few months ago at a yard sale and have yet to identify it as being a snuff box, Match Safe or other box? It has what appears to be some kind of gold pressed into the metal of the box. It is Hinged and also has a pattern of holes inside a rectangle on the bottom of the box, I do not know what these or the box is for. I thought maybe that the holes were for striking matches but I am not certain. I am truly at a loss for identifying this thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
