Has a shape I have seen on caddy’s attributed to the Dutch and has a windmill on it. Bottom Marks are unfamiliar to me. Any information on origin or date appreciated.

Yours is very nice and silver not plate. I have seen only four examples of this shape. Nice to have, if for no other reason than because of the shape.

Love the shape of this caddy, we have seen a Dutch one with a similar navette shaped oval form.

I would agree with that !! None of the marks would indicate more than that !! Pretty common type silver plate tea caddy !!

Giorgio B over at Silvercollection (dot) it, has suggested that the marks are generic German marks, and that the middle mark is an upside down “G”.

The lid is on the tea caddy. It has a flat top and scalloped edges. The sleeve slides down into the neck of the tea caddy and there is residual of solder on the top suggesting that there once was a finial crowning the lid.

Do you have the lid ?? You can find many of these repousse tea caddies on ebay !! This site does not let us post an ebay link so you can see !! I can not tell what the center letter is !! Many used the maltese cross in their mark so that doesn`t help !!
