My husband and I found a 16mm [i]Craig[/i] Kalart photoeditor with splicer at a local garage sale. We are intersted in learning more about a time frame that this would have been used and if this would have been an individual use item or typically used in a movie theater (i.e., to fix broken reels).
I would appreciate any questions or suggestions that might help us learn more about this “find”.
It’s been a long time since I saw one of these. It was probably 1982, we used one to edit a project.
I doubt it would have been used at a movie theater – it would have taken too long. Can’t tell the date of this particular one.
Do you have the reels or the cover for it – or is what you show in the photo all you have? Regardless,I believe I have found a gentleman who may be able to help you and may even want to buy it – don’t know.
