My husband and I found a 16mm Craig Kalart photoeditor with splicer at a local garage sale. We are intersted in learning more about a time frame that this would have been used and if this would have been an individual use item or typically used in a movie theater (i.e., to fix broken reels).
I would appreciate any questions or suggestions that might help us learn more about this “find”.
What’s in the picture is what we have. I can’t find an indication that there would have been a cover (i.e., no clips or even rub marks where it would have rested). However, as for the age, it is a model V46, if this helps. The tag is still intact on the back.
We hope to find a couple of 16mm reels for it, but have not had an opportunity to check for these, yet.
Thanks for the link. It sounds like what this gentleman has is a newer stainless version of what ours is…ours is a totally-wooden base with cast brackets.
