I have a linen handbag with Jacobean Crewel embroidery on both sides that appears to be done by hand. The single strap handle is of the same cloth and attaches by brass triangles. It opens with a hinged mechanism by pulling cloth tabs which are also embroidered. It stays open much like a knitting bag. The lining is peach/gold tafetta? which is worn but has no holes. There is a small inside pocket also of the tafetta?. It measures about 2x8x14″. It was found at a Goodwill in Greenville, SC. There are no labels or manufacturer markings. I mainly wish to know what decade it is from.
