Here are a few for WWll !! They made many different styles depending on the use and which branch of the military !! There were also weight requirements and if the knives didn`t meet those, weight could be added in that hole !! If you have never shopped at a military surplus store,, you would be surprised at what you find !! Many years ago I bought a British Enfield 303 rifle from a metal trash can full of them !! That was at a K-Mart department store !!

Thanks for your answer, but it’s not common,I also emailed a few other people but because the handle is metal with the hole in the back.Nobody know exactly what it is.I was hoping I could get something on here.I was used, maybe my pic doesn’t pick it up.I’ve checked Ebay, googled, asked other sites nothing. Thanks

If it was made for the military they would have been ordered by the thousands !! Since there is no name,, it was never in use !! Would have had “Property of U.S. Army” or something similar !! The handle would have been wrapped I think !! No way to know anything without a makers name or issue name !! Most likely was sold at an Army Navy surplus store and used by a hunter somewhere !!
That was common !!
