Q: I have a problem I’m hoping you can solve. I bought a set of gold-colored flatware at a flea market several years ago. The pieces were terribly blackened, but they had my monogram on them so I could not resist. They were a bear to clean. I tried brass and silver cleaners to no avail and finally just put everything in the dishwasher. That did the trick and now every piece sparkles. The pieces are stamped ‘Dirilyte.’ What kind of metal is that?
