Auctioned for $100,000 — a vase from the collection of James Carpenter who had discovered the thousands of pottery pieces stored by George Ohr when he stopped making his unusual souvenirs, vases, pitchers and more. The earthenware “vessel” was a signed twisted piece estimated at only $20,000 to $30,000. Ohr pottery has been going up in price for the last few years as more collectors see his work. This is a record price from the eccentric pottery of Ohr.
