Gaudy Dutch pottery was made in England and exported to the United States after the War of 1812. It has been said that Staffordshire potters made the pottery only for the German settlements of Pennsylvania, but that is probably not true as it was sold in quantity in Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, and Maryland.
