The name Lenci means dolls to many Americans. Dolls, usually of felt, have been made at the Lenci factory in Turin, Italy, since 1922. From 1928 to 1964, the factory also made ceramics influenced by Danish, German, and Wiener Werkstätte artists, especially Vally Wieselthier. The pieces are easy to recognize because the style is so unlike that of other firms.
