Carlo Bugatti (1855-1940) was a designer and craftsman from Milan, Italy. His early furniture, made in the late 1880s, was original and exotic. It featured diagonal back panels; tassels; fringe; disk-shaped arms or sides for tables; stamped brass or pewter trim; Japanese-, Islamic-, and Egyptian-style medallions and flower decorations; and vellum-covered wood frames or seats.
