Designer Émile Gallé (1846-1904) made art nouveau glass, ceramics, and furniture in Nancy, France. He started working with glass in 1867 at his father’s company in Lorraine, France, creating enameled designs on clear glass. In 1873 Gallé set up his own studio, where he made art glassware, including lamps, vases, and even tableware.
