Cleveland artist Edris Eckhardt was famous for her work with ceramics, glass, and enameled metal. After graduating from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 1932, she set up her own studio. From 1935 until 1941, she headed the ceramic arts program in Cleveland for the Work Projects Administration (WPA). Eckhardt began to work with glass in 1953.
