The body of the coffeepot corresponded to that of the teapot, although the coffeepot was taller. The early ones made about 1715 were tall and had straight sides. After that, the pear shape became popular. Later came the inverted pear, then the straight-sided pot and the urn-shaped pot of 1790. And finally, in the early 1800s, fatter, rounded pots that usually had feet appeared.
