Bauer
John Andrew Bauer made pottery in Paducah County, Kentucky, and Atlanta, but it is his work in California after 1915 that interests today’s collector. He opened a plant in Los Angeles, making redware pots and flower containers, then introduced dinnerware about 1930. Bauer’s solid-color line called Plain Ware, popular for casual dining, was the first American dinnerware of this type, years before Fiesta ware.
