Paul Revere in the Kitchen

Years ago when we were teaching school, a fellow teacher and non-collector asked if we knew anything about Paul Revere silver. (And she was a history teacher!) Seems her mother had a few spoons and gave one to each of her children. It was in her kitchen drawer, used to stir food cooking on the stove. We made her move it to a safer place and explained it had a value. Wouldn’t she be amazed to know a similar spoon sold at a James Julia auction recently for $9,200.
