Sometime in 2011 in a private sale, more than $250 million dollars was paid for the famous Cezanne painting, “The Card Players.” It is one of five versions of the painting. The buyer was the royal family of Qatar, a country on the border of Saudi Arabia. It is a world record price for any work of art.
