A pair of ruby slippers used during the filming of the 1939 movie, “The Wizard of Oz,” has been sold to a group of movie-making millionaires. The slippers, one of four pairs used during the filming, have been donated to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for a planned exhibit at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Hollywood. The donors included Leonardo DiCaprio and Steven Spielberg. This pair of slippers is considered to be in the best condition of the four known to exist. We don’t know what the donors paid, but another pair auctioned for $666,000 in 2000.

Do all parties concerned know one of the four pairs were stolen a few years ago from the Judy Garland Museum in Grand Rapids, MN. The last I heard they had no information where they were. Could these be the stolen pair?
