Q: I bought this envelope commemorating the Hindenburg’s “First Flight” at a flea market in the 1960s. The words “By First Flight on the ‘Hindenburg’” were typewritten at the top where the return address belongs. The envelope was postmarked May 11, 1936, in New York, N.Y., and is addressed to someone in White Plains, N.Y. It has a special stamp mark showing the Hindenburg with the words “Lakehurst, Trans-Atlantic” above it and “First Flight” under it. Below that are two circles showing the western and eastern hemispheres, the date 1936, and “Frankfurt-am-Main.” Is this of any value?
