I have gotten a desk I believe of hardwood. It is simple, tall legs, desktop with attached, raised shelf, two drawers. In one drawer in a Franklin Shockey Hand Burnished Makers Mark . I wacant find this desk, this mark anywhere. I want very much to ask help identifying this desk. I will attach a picture of the desk and the mark that is inside of one drawer.

Those links do not work here !! Just post your pics to this site !! Make sure they are compatible with the max. file size !! Look below when you reply,, where it says “upload files” it tells the maximum file size per per pic !!
What other identification do you need ?? You know the maker and the product line,,!! The company was in business from 1941 to about 1960 and made mid century modern furniture !! Just need to know what you are looking for to help !!

Well I know full well the history of the Shockley Furniture Company only because I studied and studied and researched and looked and actually weeks trying to find anything that will identify this particular desk other than the Maker’s Mark. And I can’t find this Maker’s Mark on any other site any place so is it an imposter? What I am after is proof that it is truly Shockley and is it truly a student desk as there’s a back piece that says 80 – B back piece student desk in handwritten not marker. I’ve researched under that I’m looking for proof and valuation because I want to sell it and I want to sell it very well priced and fair it needs some refinishing but I don’t want to undersell myself either and I like to know exactly what I’m selling is what I say it is. What am I after is I’m personally interested in my selling items. Personally I I love the history and I like to know. I appreciate your comment in your help and I welcome any other comments and I hope for more.

Need to see it and the mark on it !! Most of his desks student or otherwise are selling between $50. and $325. !! Desks just do not sell well !! They have no use in todays homes no matter who made them and just take up space with no particular purpose !! Don`t make the mistake of looking at asking prices online They are not selling for those prices !! The one for $325 had to reduce the price to sell !!

Many companies contracted with schools to supply furniture !! This would have been for an adult or teacher not a student desk !! That is why it has a different stamp than the other furniture !! No difference in value !! I see you have it listed for $500. just wait and see if there is any interest !!
