I am redoing a antique Kneehole desk that was my grandmothers, Im having problems trying to figure out the age and name brand? On one of the drawers the only info is WAL 918. I have googled it and get nowhere, The only info I have about it ,that when My grandparents moved into town in 1962. The desk was in the house they bought, It was dark brown with round wooden handles, any help would be great

Furniture is rarely marked with mfrs name !! There are so many furniture companies that one could only guess at who made it !! Many of the 20th century pieces will have the style number on the back and that is only helpful to the company that made it !! That is what yours has,, Wal is for the finish which is walnut,,the numbers are the company style number !!
