I have several pink stems which would be beautiful, but my friend had them wrapped in plain white paper used for packing delicates for moving. When she unwrapped them they had a white film on certain areas. I have tried everything to clean the film off….. vinegar soaks, household cleaners, baking powder paste, acetone etc. Nothing seems to work. The white film stains ruin the glass.
Can anyone suggest anything which may be useful………….
thank you

Can you post a pic of one of them so we can see the white areas !! I have never known paper to be harmful to glass !! I assume you have tried Windex, alcohol, Teflon scrubbie, WD 40, cooking oil ect. !! We are talking about the plain white paper that you buy when you move,,big sheets ??

That’s really odd !! When you run your finger over it does it feel slightly rough ?? Or does it feel the same as the unstained part ?? It looks like its rubbed against something enough to scratch the glass !!
How long have you owned this glassware ??

This was given to me a few weeks ago because my friend had no place to keep it. She had transported it from Ohio and it had been wrapped in the white moving paper for several years.
when I run my finger over it, it feels as smooth as the unstained areas. I am totally baffled……. she said that it was fine when she wrapped it up.
