This question is about a cut to clear cobalt bowl. The bowl is about 10 inches long. When viewed from the top while sitting on the table, it is oval but pointed at the ends – like looking at a football. EXCEPT that one end is pointed, while the other is more rounded – so it actually resembles an egg. The cuts are very intricate and differ slightly on the two ends to accommodate the shape. There are no handles, no foot – it is just a simple egg shaped bowl blank with the intricate cuts. I would like to know if there is a specific reason or purpose for this asymmetrical shape.

Agree,, need pics and the size please !! Many times these were created as art pieces and not for any practical use !! It was up to the person that bought it as to what it would be used for !!
