Well,, I cross posted this to another forum to find out what this dish was used for !! My guess was way off !! Scroll down at the link and see other dishes like yours !!

The producer was (against what is stated) located in [i]Altrohlau[/i] (Austrian Bohemia, it was the [b]Porzellanfabrik Victoria Schmidt & Co.[/b].
