I have a collection of Storyville artifacts from New Orleans red light district that was legal until 1917. I am curious as to the value of my Blue Book, the guide to all the brothels. It is in new condition, had not even been opened until I got it. I also have a Mahogany Hall (Lulu White’s house of pleasure) token that entitles the bearer to- um,how shall I put this-admission to the establishment.I have never seen another one although I have read that they did exist. Any idea to the value of he token and how to authenticate it? I have an 1888 prostitute’s license signed by the tax assessor but the payee/license holder line is not filled in. The tax for a single, independent working girl was $25.00. it was $100. for a madam. All in all with the Bellocq photo (printed by Lee Friedlander, Blue Book, brothel token, and 2 author signed books I have a nice little cache but need an insurance value.
