Hi im randi and i recently rescued from the dumpster a painting, but what makes me wonder about this painting is the descriptive, very old and yellow brown note i found tucked up hidden between the frame and canvas. It is a fair painting of a spanish ship and the note stated it was painted by “dear “Countess Emma de la Pomme” who later married a famous pianist named “Louis Pamies” it states that she was a famous vocalist who died in redwood city ca. in 1940 . ive since found her death certificate and she was born “Gertrude Bruckman” . What im wondering is why was this woman dubbed a “COUNTESS” and how can i find more about her ive drained myself searching the net only to locate her death certificate and absolutely nothing on her husband or the other people on this note. a friend by the name of Louis Affy or Affry and the person that wrote this note claiming at the time to be the presaent owner of the painting a “Myrtle Affy or Affry”
