My Mum bought this from an old rag-and -bone gypsy man about 40 or more years ago when we lived in England. I want to clean it but not sure if I should also not sure of the value.. its solid brass with an iron handle and very heavy.

The pic is probably too large !! This site has a 2MB size limit on pics !! Reduce the size and see if it will load !! The limit is 2MB total so that would be for one pic or if you have two pics,, 1MB each !! Look below for the file size limit,,below where it says attachments,,it says max. file size 2MB !!
