This is an antique folding coat hook, heavy duty wire with a twisted design. The pictured item is 11 inches long by 5 inches tall (open). Thanks for participating!
I have one of these…. it’s a folding clothes hanger, usually used when traveling to hang up a suit coat, etc…
I beleive this to be a early folding coathanger
Looks like it could be a collapsible lingerie or strappy clothing (brassiere, nightgown, etc.) hanger, suitable for travel.
Is it an automatic pot hanger which fits inside a kitchen fireplace?
A wet sock dryer, perhaps for a fireplace?
It’s quite large for a simple clothing type hanger. I’m going to guess, its for heavy linen, Tablecloths or maybe small rugs, after washing?
With hooks on the arm ends, apparently for belt loops, it appears to be a folding pants or skirt hanger made of twisted iron wire.
I think it is a folding coat hanger.
I’ll guess a folding coat hanger.
I’m stumped, no idea.
