It might be a mirror from the Song dynasty but it isn’t rounded.
It might be a mirror from the Quing dynasty but it doesn’t have a hole to hang silk.
Could be a template of some sort, but the lip that runs around the item is higher than the calligraphy
Could be some sort of ink/callgraphy tool but the item is slightly convex and not flat on the bottom so it would make a mess of things.
That’s my thought process — which is why I’m asking for outside help. I’ve researched the Metropolitain Museum of Modern art, auction guides — and I need some help here. Any and all thoughts would be appreciated!
