This question is about a cut to clear cobalt bowl. The bowl is about 10 inches long. When viewed from the top while sitting on the table, it is oval but pointed at the ends – like looking at a football. EXCEPT that one end is pointed, while the other is more rounded – so it actually resembles an egg. The cuts are very intricate and differ slightly on the two ends to accommodate the shape. There are no handles, no foot – it is just a simple egg shaped bowl blank with the intricate cuts. I would like to know if there is a specific reason or purpose for this asymmetrical shape.
