Dolls are the oldest toys, in use since prehistoric times when they were made from materials like clay, fur, and wood. Doll entries are listed by marks printed or incised on the doll, if possible. If there are no marks, the doll is listed by the name of the subject or country or maker. Notice that Barbie is listed under Mattel. G.I. Joe figures are listed in the Toy section.
