Spangle Glass

Spangle Glass

Spangle glass is multicolored glass made from odds and ends of colored glass rods. It includes metallic flakes of mica covered with gold, silver, nickel, or copper. Spangle glass is usually cased with a thin layer of clear glass over the multicolored layer. It is sometimes incorrectly called end-of-day glass, which implies the decoration was made of leftovers. Similar glass is listed in the Vasa Murrhina category. For more information, explore our identification guides for spangle glass and other art glass
