Low

Low

Low art tiles were made by the J. and J. G. Low Art Tile Works of Chelsea, Massachusetts, from 1877 to 1902. Father and son John and John Gardner Low, who patented a "natural" process during which grasses and leaves were impressed on the tiles, started the company. A variety of art and other tiles were made. Some of the tiles were made by a process called "natural," some were hand modeled, and some were made mechanically.
