Royal Dux

Royal Dux is the more common name for the Duxer Porzellanmanufaktur, which was founded by E. Eichler in Dux, Bohemia (now Duchov, Czech Republic), in 1860. By the turn of the century, the firm specialized in porcelain statuary and busts of Art Nouveau-style maidens, large porcelain figures, and ornate vases with three-dimensional figures climbing on the sides. Before 1938, the company had over 12,000 molds for porcelain. The firm is still in business. It is now part of Czesky Porcelan (Czech Porcelain). Fakes have been made in recent years.
