[color=#000000][size=4]I have a large bookcase that has been in the family for years. My best guess is that it was built in the late 1800’s. It’s in real good shape for it’s age.
Would anyone have an idea of the value and places I could sell within New England?

Thank you

Running late here and just now seeing the post about the nursing home !! That makes perfect sense !! Guess the lawyer theory is out now !! Those old metal charts were heavy !!

Well, it could have been a china cab as well, it was quite common to build in cabinets in those days, particularly in formal dining rooms.

Thank you guys, this is real good information. I’m in Rhode Island and hope there is a higher market, but I think you are right. After all those years collecting and caring for this type of furniture it’s a shame the quality and beauty are no longer in demand.

Not sure about a cabinet, the shelves still have the original worn felt.

Thanks for your help.
