[color=#000000][size=4]I have a large bookcase that has been in the family for years. My best guess is that it was built in the late 1800’s. It’s in real good shape for it’s age.
Would anyone have an idea of the value and places I could sell within New England?

Thank you

Can you open one of the drawers and take a pic of the dovetail joints on the side !! That will help with dating it !!

Looks like the framework is pegged,,how thick are those boards the drawer frames are made of ?? Looks like over an inch !!

The side boards are 3/4″ thick, whereas the from of the draw is 1 1/2″ thick.
Does the pegging make a big difference?

No, the pegs or dowels in this case are to attach drawer front to drawer rails. This looks to be late 19th – early 20th century bookcase/ china cab that was probably built on site in the victorian era for a large house.
As to value, I dunno but not as much as you think as large victorian pieces are just not bringing a lot these days in the middle market.
