There is no way one can assign a date or even a year to most items like this !! The artwork is not that good and is just some color inside a line drawing !! Nothing unique about it !! These have been done for many years but in my opinion,, yours was closer to mid century than 1880 !! From 1950 to the early 1980`s these were sold in the U.S. by the thousands !!
They were exported to many countries !! There is one thing that is unavoidable when looking at pottery of any kind,, the unglazed foot !! Since it is unglazed it acts like a sponge and absorbs dust, and dirt from the air when it has sat around the house no matter how clean you try to be !! I would have expected to see a lot more darkening of the foot with an age of 1880 !! Yours did not have that !!
Imari was only a port from which these were shipped,, not a brand name of any kind !!
There were many factories as well as cottage industries that shipped from there !!
Will the 1880 date translate into value ?? No,,value is determined by the quality of the artwork and in some instances the date !! But from 1880,, that is pretty modern for the Japanese !!
