Mosaic Tile Company

Mosaic Tile Company of Zanesville, Ohio, was started by Karl Langerbeck and Herman Mueller in 1894. Frederick Hurten Rhead, the famous potter, worked at Mosaic Tile Company from 1922 to 1923. Many types of plain and ornamental tiles were made until 1959. The company closed in 1967. The company also made some ashtrays, bookends, and related giftwares.
